Tulip Festival 2011

Have I ever mentioned Tulip Festival is one of my favorite times of year at Thanksgiving Point Gardens?

How beautiful is that? The colors, the variety, the beauty. It is amazing. But we have gotten a little lazy over the years. I think it had something to do with the fact Mark had already been at work and on his feet for a few hours that day.

The kids love driving through the gardens. SPOILED!

This year the weather was a bit cold. I can't believe I was wearing gloves and a winter coat at the end of April! But the flowers were still amazing. If you have never been you really must make a point of going. Of course some day maybe I'll be able to see the real amazing tulips in Holland!

Fall Break

We started Fall Break off with a bang this year.  The first day we spent at Cornbelly's Corn Maze and Barnyard Boo at Thanksgiving Point .

The kids favorite part of Cornbelly's was definitely the go carts

But the Bounce Pillow was a big hit too!
The plan was to conquer THE BEAST
But we did not make it around the first turn before we backed out.  Mom was not too sad about it though.
And the hay slides were a big hit.
And you can't pass up a turn on the Cow Train
Dad took his lunch break and came and met us for the Corn Maze
After a quick stop at the Corn Cannons
We did get lost in the maze on several occasions
But found our way out and over to the train
And we lassoed a few cows
And enjoyed a few moments on the Pumpkin Carriage
And if that wasn't enough fun we then headed over to Farm Country and did Barnyard Boo
We had a great day, but I was sure tired at the end of the day.  And I got to go to a Relief Society Meeting after all that fun!
Friday and Saturday were not as exciting as the first day.  But Saturday night Mark and I got to enjoy the funnest evening we have had in a long time.  Some friends invited us to "How To Host A Murder" Party.  I even sewed a tunic for me and we created a toga for Mark.  We had great food and had a ton of laughs.  I'll have to post those pictures when we get copies from our friends.

But I think we will hit the Dollar Theater tomorrow for our final activity.  A nice relaxing afternoon with Wall-E!

Beautiful Day

What a beautiful afternoon we had. We finally made it out to Thanksgiving Point to see the tulips. Mark was still working when we first got there, so the kids and I started down into the incredible gardens.

Just after the butterfly garden the kids decided they were too tired to keep walking.
Then Dad came to the rescue!

And what child can resist rolling down the huge hill of the Waterfall Garden. Not my three!

The kids tried to convince us to let them drive the golf cart.

My girls that are so afraid of bees are brave when the bees are behind glass!

And after walking through the gardens Mark and I played on the Segways for a few minutes.

What a great afternoon we spent as a family.
Tomorrow we try to conquer the sprinkler system. You can take bets on how many swear words may be uttered.
