School Programs

You can tell it is getting to be close to the end of the school year.
We are starting to have lots of programs to attend

Jessica and Ashley finished up their ballroom classes.
Here they are with the group trophies they earned this year.

The second year group did a really fun 50s number

And here are all the first and second year students after doing a wonderful performance.

I think Jessica was excited/embarrassed that her beehive class came to see her.
She had a great cheering section!

And we've attended the 6th grade play.  This year they did Pinocchio and Jessica was a puppet master!

Samba, Anyone?

Last year and this year Jessica has been on the Elementary School Ballroom Team at her school.  She has Loved it!  They just had their year end concert.  They got to do a dress rehearsal at the school and then a performance for the parents that night.  She puts a lot of time and effort into Ballroom.  She stays after school 2 days a week and doesn't get home until after 5pm on those days.  They wait for the first hour for the first year group to practice.  Jessica is always good about getting her homework done while she waits.  Then the second year group gets to practice after that.

Here is a picture of both the first and second year teams.  The kids with black shirts are the second year.  As you can see there are twice as many girls as boys.  So the boys get to dance with two girls each.  They usually change partners half way through the dance.

They have multiple dances and multiple outfit changes.  They always look so cute.  Here the girls are watching as a couple from the High School perform.  They have learned the Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Swing and her current favorite is the Samba.

And if you want to see how cute they are, here is the video.  It is amazing to see the difference and improvement as she is in the class longer.

Dance away Jess!

Ballroom Spring Performance

Just for the record (I have to put this down in writing) For Mother's Day Jessica's card to me said she loved me because I was a COOL Mom. I realize this idea is short lived and in a year or two she will regret ever saying it. So for now I will relish in the fact someone, especially my eldest daughter, thinks I'm cool and not a fuddy duddy!

Okay, onto the real post. Monday night was the final Ballroom performance for Jessica's School. They did an amazing job and it was so great to see their improvement. Here is a little slide show featuring the kids.

And while I'm blogging, can I tell you how much fun couponing can be. It has been a couple of weeks since a really good sale, but today I scored. Albertsons was doing some funky buy $15 of certain items and get $5 back. I've now done this long enough I was able to figure out the good buys on my own and didn't have to wait for Amy's e-mail from Savvy Shopper. I spent $19.99 and saved $83.67! The best buy was the Lawrys Marinade I got for 16 cents a bottle. Came home and threw some chicken in the Lemon Pepper marinade for dinner tonight, yum. But also excited for the All Small and Mighty laundry soap for $1 a bottle. And I'm sure the Bertolli Pasta Sauce I got for 38 cents a bottle will be tasty.

Jessica's Ballroom Team

Here is the amazing Noah Webster Knights Ballroom Team. Jessica competed on Saturday, March 15th at the BYU DanceSport Competition in the Elementary School Competition. She danced an Amazing Tango! This is her first year learning and she has improved so much. Now Mom and Dad need to learn to Ballroom Dance so we can help her practice!
